Lots of updates!
hello everyone. Once again, it has been a lifetime since I have written. I think the busiest part of my time here was the past month and a half and things are finally starting to calm down again. The past month of a half I have been busy working on my seminary applications (doing edit after edit), doing various retreats, doing some traveling, and doing stuff with the church. I have lots to fill you all in on.....
First, seminary stuff.....I turned in an application to Princeton Theological Seminary for their M.Div program at the end of January. I was ecstatic to find an acceptance letter in the mail from them last week. I submitted my application to Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary a week 1/2 ago and am waiting to hear from them. I will go visit Louisville for their Exploratory weekend the first weekend of March. I am flying out to Princeton to check it out March 19-21. So, more traveling this next month.
I took a trip out to California about 2 weeks ago to visit Fuller Seminary. It was a fun trip, despite the fact that I was sick (I have been sick on a off since January). It was great to see my friend Amber and to meet all of her friends. There were many aspects that I really liked about Fuller but at the same time I'm not sure if it's the best fit for me. But we'll see how I like the other two schools. I am pretty much finished with the Fuller app. I just have to finish some edits on the essays.
Work is going really well. Today was probably one of my favorite days at work. Since it was Mardi Gras, we had a little celebration at work. Some students from Travecca (a local college) came over with Karaoke and popcorn machines and mardi gras accessories . In an environment that is often stressful and difficult, everyone was relaxed and having fun singing and dancing. It was a memory I will never forget.
While there are aspects that have very challenging about this year and which have really tested me, I can't believe my year is already half way over. I hope I will be ready to leave everything in Nashville in 5 1/2 months but thinking about that now makes me sad. I'm definitely not ready to leave yet, but maybe things will feel differently several months down the road.
The biggest prayer request is for discernment about seminary - especially where and when- and I go visit Princeton and Louisville. Also, please pray for health. I have been sick all the time (all colds and bronchial stuff) this past month or so. The minute I think I'm well again, I catch it from someone else. And I'm tired of being sick all the time.
Thanks for reading, and for your patience in waiting for me to post again. :)
