Welcome to my Blog

Hello everyone!

I realize that I've told most of you what I will be doing this year but just in case I thought I ought to give a short explanation of it. I am taking a short break from "real life" to do a year of mission work with the Presbyterian Church-U.S.A. The mission program is called Young Adult Volunteers and the local name for my site (Nashville) is the "Nashville Epiphany Project". If you'd like to see a really fabulous video about the program, here's a link (scroll down towards the bottom of the page).

The agency in Nashville I am going to be working with is called The Campus for Human Development, and it's a homelessness center. If you'd like to learn more about the Campus, you can visit this site: http://www.chd-nashville/index.html

I also feel I must write a preface (or perhaps I should call it a word of precaution) for this Blog. This blog is going to be my journal so it will be very honest, probably a little choppy, and it will also incorporate my theological reflections (because that is what this year is about for me). I hope no one minds my bluntness and I would love for ANY of you to comment, leave questions or just say hi anytime. I hope that this blog could be not only my journal but an online community in which some great discussion (even if that includes disagreeing) happens.
You all are incredibly important to me and I hope you feel that you are along for the journey as well to help me learn, process the many new experiences, and grow (because I certainly can't do it on my own).

Finally, thanks for everyone for the support and prayers!

Peace be with You,

Blair
